Chatting to Total Film, Reynolds admitted that "that movie is alive and kicking, and then it's dead as a doornail. Then it's alive and kicking and then it's dead. It's like the worst relationship I've ever had".

"It's risky for everbody involved", he continued. "It's not as commercial as they would like it to be. It's a property that is excessively popular and successful, just as a comic property. So you certainly don't want to mess that up. And if you're a studio you certainly don't want to put something out there that you can't get back".

The current status then appears to be that the film does still have life to it, but not lots of it. As far as we know Tim Miller is still attasched to direct the new film, but then he's been involved for nearly a year now, and there's no sign of obvious progress.

Deadpool is released in cinemas in February 2016, with Ryan Reynolds leading the cast. Joining him will be Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano and T J Miller. Tim Miller directors, from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
