Report: PS4.5 codenamed NEO, includes upgraded CPU, GPU and RAM

Today, multiple sources have confirmed for us details of the project, which is internally referred to as the NEO. No price was provided, but previous reports indicate that the NEO would sell at $399. At time of publishing, Sony has not returned our request for comment, but we will update this story if the company responds.

The NEO will feature a higher clock speed than the original PS4, an improved GPU, and higher bandwidth on the memory. The documents we've received note that the HDD in the NEO is the same as that in the original PlayStation 4, but it's not clear if that means in terms of capacity or connection speed. Starting in October, every PS4 game is required to ship with both a “Base Mode” which will run on the currently available PS4 and a “NEO Mode” for use on the new console.

Games running in NEO mode will be able to use the hardware upgrades (and an additional 512 MiB in the memory budget) to offer increased and more stable frame rate and higher visual fidelity, at least when those games run at 1080p on HDTVs. The NEO will also support 4K image output, but games themselves are not required to be 4K native.

Kann immer noch nicht glauben, dass Sony wirklich so doof ist und sich nach dem grandiosen Erfolg der PS4 (wo sie wirklich Alles, aber alles Erdenkliche richtig gemacht haben) aber sowas von in die Nesseln setzt.
 
Ohne Witz.
Bin echt am überlegen meine PS4 zu verkaufen. Ich komm aktuell fast nicht zum zocken und hab ja noch eine.....wie heisst sie noch gleich.........ONE, genau die hab ich noch hier. Nach der 4k bekommt man doch eh keine Kohle.

Edit: Uncharted 4. Vergesst das Geschriebene ganz schnell.
 
Kann mir irgendwie nicht vorstellen das Sony die PlayStation 4 Spieler wegen einem solch kleinem Update spaltet. Ich hätte im Fall der Fälle mit einer viel stärkeren Konsole gerechnet, das wäre ja wirklich nur eine PlayStation 4.25
 
Wichtig noch einmal hervorzuheben:
there will be no NEO-only games, and Sony will not let developers separate NEO users from original PS4 players while playing on PSN. Likewise, Sony explicitly and repeatedly states that developers cannot offer exclusive gameplay options or special unlockables for NEO players

Weil der grund dafür die brille ist und nix anderes, sonst laufen die vive spiele nicht auf der ps4, wa kann keinen anderen grund geben.
 
Wenn das wirklich alles so angekündigt wird, verkaufe ich meine PS4 wieder und scheisse auf Sony!
Habe echt keine Lust auf meiner "Unterschichten-PS4" in 2 - 3 Jahren ruckelnde Spiele spielen zu müssen.

Ich kann jetzt wirklich nur noch dafür beten, dass MS nicht den selben Scheiss macht.
 
Na dann her mit dem Brusthaar, Phil hat schon dementiert, dass es eine Xbox 1.5 geben wird. :D
