On Pricerunner.dk, a price-comparison site, the Xbox one was Nr. 21 on the list of most popular products back in July.
Right now, it's at Nr. 27 on the launch day.

Indien:

Microsoft has decided to go Amazon exclusive with the Xbone in my country. The system will literally not be available at any retail stores. Well not officially anyway.

Schweden:

I went to the largest gaming retail store in Sweden (Webhallen) Yesterday. I didn't really make the connection that XBO is launching soon, so I didn't really look for any XBO stuff, but looking back, I don't remember seeing any promotional material for it. [...] I went to their website to see if they were giving it space there, but didn't really see anything there either

I was in the biggest electronics store in the 6th largest city in Sweden, 10 minutes past opening. There were no queues, and no other people near the xbox one stacks.

Polen:

the biggest electronics shops in Poland are actually giving a lot of attention to Xbox One.
Media Markt, Saturn and Euro RTV have a lot of banners and commercials on their websites. There are nice, reasonably priced bundles available

At the store I work we have about 45 pre-orders, which is nothing compared to the PS4 (judging by the op's story we work at the same chain of stores). There's been a distinct lack of hype from our customers and very few have actually made a down-payment so I'm curious to see how many we'll actually sell.

Store opened at 9.30 AM and I worked there till 3PM. Thusfar, we sold 26 Xbox One consoles, which is a lot more then I expected tbh. The split was 14 Kinectless and 12 Kinect bundles, which is also surprising as I expected it more to be 75%-25%. Only half of our pre-orders (14 total) have been picked up so I expect to sell the rest of those today. Our store is still open till 9PM tonight so we might end up with about 40 to 50 Xbox One's sold on Day 1. With a total shipment of about 60 Xbox One Day 1 bundles that's about 75% sold through on Day 1 which is quite good I guess.

We didn't sell a lot of games today though, guess most people opted for the games included in the box (Forza 5 and FIFA 15) until buying new ones. Ryse, Dead Rising, Watch Dogs and Battlefield were the top selling games

Belgien:

Mediamarkt Brussels this noon. They have a stack of 30ish new bundles in the store. No-one stopping by.

Portugal:

FNAC being one of the biggest they promoted the launch of the console with just some signs on the door and via social media in a very light form. [...] Not only it was the smallest row but it was the less visible point and from a Marketing point-of-view, the less appealing place to have your product (in a corner, at the end of the rows, behind another row in the centre).

Microsoft is one of their official sponsors for one specific program. A program I was working on a decent-sized project so I sent an e-mail to one of the Marketing members to ask for informations regarding the Xbox One [...] Got zero replies from them. They not only ignored a potential consumer, they did worst! They did not answered a official member from a partnership from the Government itself! Just in case to make it sure I sent the e-mail more than once

Norwegen:

they've taken out Kinect voice control (completely, even english if you turn on norwegian text), have no exclusive norwegian apps or features and no localized games. We waited almost a year because of ...who knows?

While we wish we could launch Xbox One simultaneously in these markets, there are many factors that determine the timing of specific market launches. This includes work to localize the Xbox One dash, incorporate additional voice and languages, and build partnerships to bring apps and meaningful local content to each country.

Das ist blöd. Das Netzteil bzw die Steckverbindung kam mir bei meiner auch merkwürdig vor, ich musste den Stecker schon richtig rein drücken, damit das Ding saß. Sonst gab es so ein komisches Geräusch, welches sich nicht unbedingt anhörte.

Ärgerlich. Das Geld für die Konsole liegt sozusagen neben mir, aber ich muss noch bis Anfang November warten, bis das weiße Schmuckstück hier ankommt.

Das ist blöd. Das Netzteil bzw die Steckverbindung kam mir bei meiner auch merkwürdig vor, ich musste den Stecker schon richtig rein drücken, damit das Ding saß. Sonst gab es so ein komisches Geräusch, welches sich nicht unbedingt anhörte.

Es könnte auch die Festplatte sein. Stecker sind alle fest drin, allerdings machts das Geräusch auch wenn die Konsole aus ist und ich den Stecker in die Steckerleiste schiebe. Nach 5 Sekunde isses dann vorbei und sobald die Kiste rennt, was sie allen Anschein nach tut, isses dauernd zu hören. Ist eben n Mittelding zwischen Festplatte (aber höher) und dem Geräusch das ein nicht ganz eingesteckter Stecker macht.

Support ist natülrich jetztkeiner mehr verfügbar. Chat ist geschlossen und Telefon ist trotz Betriebszeit bis 21 Uhr nicht verfügbar.

Wie kommt ihr mit den 500gb hin?
Ich lese überall von Megadownloads, Installationen usw. Und hab da ein wenig Angst das es nicht reichen könnte.
Ausserdem listet Amazon eine Advanced Warfare Edition mit 1 Tb.
Reichen 500Gb oder lieber die 1 Tb Version?

Ich zb habe zwar nicht so viele Spiele auf der Platte aber trotzdem nur mehr 50 GB frei

Also mit den internen 500MB kommt man schon locker hin. Ich hab allerdings noch ne externe 1TB dran, alles drauf kopiert und hab jetzt 42% davon belegt. Sind aber locker auch schon 20 Games drauf plus diverse Apps.

Edit: Hab die Konsole jetzt mal ausgemacht und lade im Hintergrund Killer Instinct. Das hohe und permanente Surren ist weg, dafür gibts jetzt ein leises klackern.

Reichen 500Gb oder lieber die 1 Tb Version?

Von den 500GB der internen Platte kannst du nur ~360GB nutzen. Der Rest ist fürs System reserviert.

Man kommt mit dem Platz durchaus ein wenig hin, wenn man nicht alles installiert haben will / 40 Spiele gleichzeitig zocken will. Habe 20 Games hier, die belegen im Schnitt ~14GB und damit wäre die interne Platte nahezu voll. (~60GB Rest).

Mit einer 1TB Konsole hat man da natürlich schon ein wenig mehr Luft nach oben, aber das wäre mir den aktuellen Aufpreis der One (CoD-Edition) nicht wert. Für den Preis kann man sich 2-3+TB als externe Platte (2,5 bzw. 3,5 Zoll; je nach Vorliebe) kaufen und dann muss man sich um die Größen keine Gedanken mehr machen.

Hier mal eine grobe Übersicht, was man so im Schnitt auf eine Platte bekommen würde:

Ich habe aktuell mit Vollpreisspielen (9) und kleineren Downloadspielen (11) einen Schnitt von ~14GB pro Spiel.

Ah okay, ich wusste garnicht das es mit einer externen Platte so Reibungslos funktioniert.
Dann ist die CoD Edition wirklich nix für mich.
