Galliani: 'Balotelli is modest'

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani claims Mario Balotelli “is among the top five players in the world and he’s modest too.”

The striker has certainly been on fine form since completing his transfer from Manchester City in January, scoring seven goals in six games for the Rossoneri and netting in Italy’s 2-2 draw with Brazil.

“I think that right now Balotelli is among the top five players in the world,” declared Galliani on Sky Sport Italia.

“Behind Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Radamel Falcao, I see Super Mario as the best player in the world.

“Of course Edinson Cavani should be taken into consideration in that list, but let us not forget that Balotelli is only 22 years old.

“He’s modest too. I called him up to congratulate him for the goal scored against Brazil, but he said he should’ve scored another two.

“I always considered Balotelli to be a great player, even when he was at Inter, and we were able to bring this talent back to Italy. I speak to him every day and tell him to continue doing well, as it’s his first season as a first choice.

“Milan have had eight Ballon d’Or winners, so we hope to make it nine with him.”

Time magazine has elected Balotelli as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2012.
Balotelli was reportedly screaming with joy when he heard the news about being included in TIME's list. He immediately called his mother.(i doubt that)
Balotelli will travel to NYC on the 23rd of April along with Raiola and Galliani, where he will receive the award from TIME magazine.

Drei Spielsperren für Balotelli
Die AC Milan muss die nächsten drei Partien auf Mario Balotelli verzichten. Dumm nur, dass er ausgerechnet in den beiden Topspielen gegen Napoli und Juve ausfällt.

Gegen Fiorentina kassiert der Stürmer Gelb wegen Zeitverzögerung, was ohnehin eine Sperre nach sich gezogen hätte. Damit nicht genug: Nach dem Schlusspfiff beleidigt «Super Mario» den Torrichter und kassiert dafür zwei weitere Sperren.

Somit fehlt der italienische Skandal-Kicker ausgerechnet in den wichtigen Spielen gegen das zweitplatzierte Napoli sowie gegen Leader Juventus – ein Rückschlag für die «Rossoneri» im Kampf um den zweiten Rang, der zur direkten Champions-League-Teilnahme berechtigt.
