Telltale Games, the makers of the choose-your-own-adventure Walking Dead games, has inked a deal with Netflix, and TechRadar reports today that a “Stranger Things” video game is currently being developed! Reportedly, the game was originally set to launch last year, in conjunction with Season 2, but was ultimately pushed back.

“We can now confirm the existence of a separate deal that will bring the world of the Upside Down to Telltale’s game platform,” the site reports.

“According to a source that spoke confidentially to TechRadar, Telltale is developing a new series set in the Stranger Things universe.”

They go on to say that the game will be built by Telltale for traditional platforms.

Scheinen wohl noch restliche Verträge zu sein, bevor der neue CEO übernommen hat. Sollte ja schon letztes Jahr erscheinen. Ich bezweifle auch stark, dass das eine komplette Staffel wird. Das geht vermutlich in die selbe Richtung wie das MR. ROBOT Spiel, was Telltale gepublished hat.

Ich verstehe es nicht.

Multiple sources also tell Variety that the days are numbered for Telltale Tool, the company’s in-house game engine. The studio is shifting to Unity for its projects (both detailed by Variety’s source and referenced in job listings), with the final season of “The Walking Dead” the last to premiere on the old engine. “Stranger Things” is slated to be the first Unity engine project, according to multiple sources.

Despite the engine’s creaking bones, fans reacted favorably to “The Walking Dead: The Final Season’s” latest trailer. The last Telltale Tool game will be also be the end of the road for Clementine and the franchise that rocketed the studio to fame. And at least one source says that the team under Hawley realigned to ensure her final title would be a peak moment.

Sources tell Variety that while the move away from Telltale Tool is long overdue, a new engine means growing pains. Developers are re-learning how to manage workflow as they adapt to the new engine. This is causing a longer process than Telltale is used to working.

Das bedeutet auch, dass Stranger Things noch vor The Wolf Among Us Staffel 2 kommen wird. Vermutlich Anfang 2019 und TWAU dann Ende 2019.
 
Es wurde ein sehr früher Prototyp des Projektes von Telltale geleakt.

Ist jetzt die Frage mit Mitarbeitern die da schon dran gewerkelt haben oder wer soll das machen?
