Square Enix has issued a response to reports that, unlike Tomb Raider's Xbox One version, the PlayStation 4 edition will run at 60fps - although the company's statement offers little new clarity on the issue.
"Both platforms offer the same outstanding Tomb Raider experience," a Square Enix spokesperson told Eurogamer.
"Delivering the core Tomb Raider gameplay at native 1080p and running at 30fps was always our primary goal given the type of experience Tomb Raider is and the exploration we want players to do. Anything beyond 30fps for this version is gravy."
The company line is almost word for word what Eurogamer was told by executive producer Scot Amos last week, which we'll reproduce again below for comparison's sake:
"The original goal for us, looking at both next-gen consoles... our minimum target was always gameplay front-to-back being 1080p and frame-rate 30fps. That was our target, and I'm very happy to say we've achieved that target on both consoles and anything above that is just gravy."
Square Enix did not address executive producer Scot Amos' claim last night that the PlayStation 4 version will run at 60fps - a generous helping of gravy beyond 30fps.
Will both platforms "offer the same outstanding Tomb Raider experience"? Stay tuned for Digital Foundry's definitive verdict.
