Episode 343.

Master Chief gehört dazu. Eine Serie ganz ohne ihn? Ne, würde ich nicht wollen. Will doch auch keiner die The Witcher Serie ohne Geralt.

Showtime's 'Halo' Series Will Feature Master Chief

According to Deadline, scheduling changes for the production of the upcoming Halo TV series have resulted in Rupert Wyatt, the director and executive producer of the series, to exit the project as the delay created a conflict for Wyatt to be involved with the project.

Showtime’s president of programming, Gary Levine, explained in a statement that while the TV series adaptation of Halo is “evolving beautifully,” he stated that “the production demands of this series are enormous.” While Wyatt will no longer be involved with the project, Levine said that he thanks Wyatt for “all he has brought to the project.”

Wyatt explained in a statement that “it’s with great disappointment that changes to the production schedule of Halo prevent me from continuing in my role asa director on the series.” However, he added that his time on the project has been “a creatively rich and rewarding experience,” and that he joins the rest of the fans around the world that are “excited to see the finished series and wishing everyone involved the very best.”

Earlier this year, Showtime had announced that it had greenlit the long-gestating production of a Halo live-action TV series and stated that the series was expected to begin production in early 2019. However, with the recent development of Wyatt’s exit and production delays, that timeline could have shifted further back into next year or beyond, potentially.

On Thursday, Showtime announced that Otto Bathurst (Black Mirror, Robin Hood) will direct the pilot and multiple episodes of the nine-episode series, which will take inspiration from across the science fiction franchise. Kyle Killen, whose high-concept series Lone Starand Awake have achieved cult status as one-season wonders, serves as Halo’s executive producer, writer, and showrunner. Bathurst arrives to the project after directing two episodes of the BBC’s new His Dark Materials series.

In a news release, Showtime says Halo will “take place in the universe that first came to be in 2001, dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. Halo will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.”
