A letter from a passionate carlover and a fan of the whole Gran Turismo series



Dear Mr. Yamauchi,

I´m a GT-Player since the first hour of the series and I´m very thankful that you invented this series and revolutionized the whole Racing Game-Genre with it.

I enjoyed all parts of the series as much as is enjoy GT5P.
It was the reason for me to buy a PS3. I play GT5P nearly every day and everytime I am stunned again by the graphics and the love for detail. My focus is mostly on just enjoying the cars and the great cockpit-view than hunting lap-times.

Unfortunately your reputation among the players and fans is not always positive. Some really appreciate the game and the wonderful carmodels. But others complain about not getting news or getting them in very long intervals.

It's been quite some months since you posted news about the game. In many internet-forums they are complaining about this fact.

But I´m not one of those who just complain. I also want to get something going and tell you, the developers, what I do criticize personally.

Some say I am wasting my time in writing to you.But I don´t care and try it anyway,as you can see with this letter.

I have some questions for you and would really appreciate it if you could take your time to answer them.









So here are my questions:

1.Will there be any more updates (Cars, Tracks etc.) for GT5P?

2.If GT5P and GT5 have the same engine, why are there so few cars and tracks available for download?
They don't have to be available for free but some more cars and/or tracks would shorten the time until GT5 is being released.

3.Why does the game still not offer private lobbies?This feature is standard on other platforms/in other games since 2002.

4.Why is there still no reverse-light implemented in the tail-lights?I miss it since GT 1.

5.Will there be dynamic weather-effects and day/night changes in the final game?

6.Will it be possible to turn on the lights manually and also use the turnsignals? That could be important to signalise other players, especially online, the intention to overtake.

7.Can we expect Porsche and Lamborghini in the final game?And will the Vector have a return to the series?

8.Will it be possible to share setups and deal cars online?

9.Is there a plan to increase the maximum number of players racing online or offline at the same time?My dream is racing against 100 online players at the same time,especially on tracks like the North Loop.

10.Will it be possible to change the color of the car after you have bought it or even paint the whole car with custom paint jobs? The first point (changing the color after purchase) is most important in my opinion.It would be nice to at least have the factory-colors available. I personally had to buy 4 Audi R8 in GT5P because I wanted different colors available at all times.

11.Will it be possible to save the replays as mp4-files and will the photomode have a return in GT5?


I have to admit that these are a lot of questions but you can see how many questions are still unanswered.

I only want to help you improve the game even further.

This letter was also intended to arrive at you earlier and in your native language so it would be easier for you to read.










I also found somebody who was willing to help me.Unfortunately this has been about 3 months ago and he left me standing in the rain. But I still wanted to finalize the project so I i have been writing a new letter,this time in english only.


Even if you don´t have the time to comment on my questions, I´d really appreciate it if you could send me some lines , to let me know,i have reached the correct person. This can be done through email, of course.
