Devil May Cry Film Planned
Screen Gems has plans to develop the videogame Devil May Cry into a feature film, Variety reports.
The game franchise, originally intended as a spinoff of "Resident Evil" (the adaptations of which have also been released by Screen Gems), launched in 2001 and has seen three sequels since with a fourth currently in the works. The storyline deals with Dante, a man attempting to avenge the death of his mother by eliminating demons.
Kyle Ward, who provided the script for another upcoming videogame adaptation, Kane & Lynch will write the screenplay.
