FX orders 13 episodes of Guillermo del Toro's The Strain

FX has declared it so: The Strain, based on the book trilogy by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, is coming to television for at least thirteen episodes (encouragingly, FX boss John Landgraf is already talking about forty-seventy instalments arranged into at least five seasons being the long-term plan).

Not one to hang about, del Toro had the entire first season was already written before the pilot went into production, meaning that filming can begin on episodes two to thirteen in Toronto later this month. The Pan's Labyrinth and Pacific Rim director will stay on as executive producer, while Lost's Carlton Cuse heads up showrunning duties.

The trilogy sees a group of scientists battling a rare viral strain that causes vampirism in those it infects. The marvellous John Hurt will be joined by a cast including The Lord of the Rings' Sean Astin, House of Cards' Corey Stoll, Alias' Mia Maestro, and Lost's Kevin Durand. We'll keep you posted as more arrives.

Letztes Wochenende The Office zu Ende geschaut. Wurde zwar gegen Ende nicht gerade besser, aber das war trotzdem so eine geniale Serie. Die letzte Folge war auch ziemlich spitze.

Jetzt muss ich ja weiterziehen und eine neue Comedy-Serie finden. Schaue gerade nochmal in Arrested Development rein. Aber irgendwie kickt mich das nicht sonderlich. Dabei hat es auch echt skurrile Charaktere.

Außerdem habe ich jetzt noch mal mit Jericho angefangen. Da möchte ich doch gerne mithelfen die Views auf Netflix zu erhöhen. Die Verhandlungen zur Übernahme von Jericho durch Netflix scheinen ja zu laufen. Hoffentlich klappt das.

Angeblich haben er und Steve Thompson bereits das Storyboard zur Pilotepisode fertig.

Auch sehr erfreulich...
The manga’s creator Naoki Urasawa has given permission for the live-action adaptation only if he could review an outline of each intended episode of the first season. Del Toro, who is slated to direct, says that the work will cover the original material very closely and no extra content will be added to alter the series or increase an episode count.

Habe Homeland angefangen, die Serie hat mich einfach mitgenommen, bin schon schon fast mitte der zweiten Staffel. Ist genau das, wonach ich schon längere Zeit auf der Suche war.
