American Truck Simulator - Washington

In a recent blog post, we have teased you with a batch of screenshots from an upcoming map expansion for American Truck Simulator. At the same time, we promised an official confirmation of the State, which most of you have actually managed to recognize very fast. This was very satisfactory for us, as it's a validation of our effort to bring our virtual worlds closer to the real world.

Washington State will be another destination on US soil. The choice of this territory was logical and henceforth linked to our endeavor to cover the West Coast and create a solid bridgehead for future expansions. This step also opens whole scenic coastal US 101 route. Its northernmost territory will, of course, be part of the Washington DLC and you can grasp the opportunity to drive it all the way from south to north or vice versa. We've tried it already and it's great!

Like every US state, Washington has its own soul and feel. We have focused on typical landscapes, settlements, industry, cities, and ports. Everything we've done so far exceeds our expectations and we have added an authentic experience from Washington hauling. Gradually, until the release of map expansion later this year, you can look forward to more WA-themed dedicated blog-posts and articles accompanied with screenshots mapping the development progress.

Meanwhile, be sure to add American Truck Simulator: Washington to your Steam Wishlist!

Trailer News Part 1: American Truck Simulator

We are working hard on the new Update 1.35 for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. It's shaping up to be one of the biggest updates ever. We plan for an extensive open beta period, but there is still a lot of internal testing and tweaking left to do before we reach that stage. A series of upcoming blog posts will focus on key new features and new content.

In today's post, we want to focus on new types of trailers and loads coming to American Truck Simulator with Update 1.35. The new additions will be very handy in the Pacific Northwest!

Chip van trailers are coming to service the woodworking industry especially in Oregon and in our upcoming Washington state map expansion. They will be available with three body variants: van, moving floor, and iconic belly van. Chip van trailers are ownable and will be available to haul from the freight market. We also plan to use them to transport other suitable loads in other industries and states.

Driving towards Washington State, you will have a chance to meet a piggyback truck transport consisting of Kenworth T680s. The new Kenworth truck manufacturing plant special prefab will produce plenty of trucks to deliver to truck dealers all around the game world. This new unique structure deserves its own topic in the near future, so we'll come back to it again.

B-double trailers are another highly requested type of trailer we've created for this update. You will find them on the roads of Oregon and Washington where they are legal. By combining different types of trailers, a huge number of possible B-double combinations is possible. They are spectacular to look at, but towing them will be a new challenge for all our drivers.

Some final words? Perhaps: "Skeletal Container Carrier!"

Farming in Washington State

From bustling cities to evergreen forests, Washington is a diverse state that is home to many significant industries including one of its largest, Agriculture. Each one of the around 40,000 farms require constant attention to keep running; they depend on truck drivers to deliver their materials, machinery and most importantly their produce to export across America and beyond.

The upcoming Washington State map expansion will feature many farm industries that will not only include growing just crops, but also those that specialise in other produce such as pumpkins, tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables.

Just as important as the produce grown are the farmyards themselves, which can vary from large companies with many acres of fields, to small country family farms. Essential to their operations are the structures which occupy the land such as greenhouses, silos, and most importantly, shelter for the livestock. On your travels, you may even come across farm animals such as pigs, sheep or even large buffaloes known for roaming and grazing, or just enjoying the sunshine.

We can't wait for you to explore these farms amongst many other industries! In the meantime, why not add Washington State to your Steam Wishlist?

Kenworth Renton Assembly Plant

Washington state is home to hundreds of large and well-known industries, amongst which one stands out due to its connection to our game - Kenworth's Truck Plant located in the city of Renton, WA. They have been making trucks in the factory since 1993. With numerous new vehicles rolling off the assembly line each day, it adds a whole new level of immersion to include such an iconic truck-manufacturing facility into our upcoming map expansion for American Truck Simulator.

With courtesy of Kenworth and thanks to their cooperation, we were able to replicate the important parts of the assembly plant. From the goods-receiving section, through to the storage and production halls, and finally to the administrative area - they all come together to form one of the largest depots in both of our truck sims, enhanced with every little detail to be as accurate as possible!

We can't wait for you to visit this area and tell us your thoughts. We're excited to have you experience both the truck plant itself and also the new cargo you'll find here (aside from the more regular loads) - a Saddle-mounted truck transport, also known as a Piggyback transport. But for now, here's a fresh batch of pictures - looks great, doesn't it?

Experience the natural beauty of the "Evergreen State" Washington, from its Pacific Coast beaches to snowcapped mountain ranges and bustling cities such as Seattle and Spokane. Washington is covered by large amounts of forestland, alongside many other diverse biomes. It is also home to some of America's largest industries and businesses, and is the leading producer of many fruits and vegetables.

Washington map expansion will be released on June 11 on Steam

Forest Machinery DLC is the next step in our series of heavy cargo expansions, which introduces machinery and equipment designed and designated for the hard-working people of the wood industry in American Truck Simulator.

Their unique jobs demand specialised trailers and accessories. These exclusive cargoes can be found within "woodworking" state territories like Oregon and Washington, but are also a part of the in-game economy across the USA. We did not forget to add something stylish for your cabin interior too!

American Truck Simulator - Utah

Many of you beelieved it when we told you that there's another map expansion coming to American Truck Simulator later this year, and most of you guessed the right one!

We couldn't think of a more appropriate time to announce that Utah will become the seventh state in our game than on Independence Day!

And why the Bee teaser? Because Utah is nicknamed the Beehive state, as the Beehive represents hard work and industry. It is also connected to the early pioneer Mormon settlers in the region.

Today, Utah has a population of more than 3 million spread across on 84,899 square miles and features a dry, semi-arid to a desert climate. Utah's many mountains also guarantee a large variety of climates creating a very specific atmosphere with which we tried our best to recreate.

Coming of Utah will also break the "hockey stick" or "L-shape" as you, our community, nicknamed the actual game map. This will allow for a better variety in routes between your destinations and hopefully, bring a richer variety behind the wheel. You will also find new cargoes available since Utah is the center to many different industries.

From now, until the release of this map expansion later this year, you can look forward to more blog posts and articles dedicated to Utah, accompanied with screenshots mapping the development progress.

Meanwhile, why don't you add American Truck Simulator - Utah to your Steam wishlist?

Also mal selbst ausprobiert.

Pink Ribbon Charity Event

Pink ribbons, and the colour pink in general, are most commonly seen during the (International) Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual health campaign organised by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness and raise funds to fight the disease.
Inspired by truck manufacturers and truckers from around the world, this October we are proud to be joining the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness campaign! We’re asking the community to join us in supporting this great cause by delivering Pink Ribbon goods across Europe and the USA in our international Pink Ribbon Charity World of Trucks event.

To further help spread the word, we've created our very own Pink Ribbon Charity Pack DLC for this event. We will be donating 100% of the Pink Ribbon Pack DLC proceeds to reputable Breast Cancer research and awareness charities, starting with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer. We hope that the list of charities we contribute to will grow as we collect more money over time.
