und wie sah es in der vergangenheit aus? cod war ja seit jahren immer hauptsächlich auf der xbox zuhause.

Guter Start für MS ins US Weihnachtsgeschäft. Da haben die Xbox One Bundles + Preissenkung in den Staaten ihren Zweck erfüllt (ob auch langfristig wird man dann sehen).

The response to this wave of blockbuster game releases and new bundles has been amazing, and sales have skyrocketed since the new price took effect on Nov. 2. Compared to the previous week, Xbox One sales in the US have more than tripled, which is exciting as more and more friends will be playing together this holiday. As we head into the busy holiday season Xbox One led generation 8 console sales in the US for the past two weeks. Shortly, we will have sold in to retailers more than 10 million Xbox One consoles.

PS4 Tops Xbox One in October NPD, NBA 2K15 and Smash Bros. are Top Games

Once again, the PlayStation 4 is the number one selling console in the US. NPD data for November 2014 arrived today, and Sony confirmed the position of their console via Twitter.

In a press release, the NPD Group's Liam Callahan writes that "Overall sales across hardware, new physical software, and accessories were essentially flat in October 2014 compared to October 2013." Continued strong performance on the console and accessory front offset the lower sales of software last month.

The Xbox One and PS4 have both been out for a year now, and the consoles are already performing better than the PS3 and Xbox 360 when compared to the same timeframe. "These consoles have had a great start," writes Callahan, "as cumulative sales are currently over 70 percent higher than the combined first year totals of Xbox 360 and PS3.”

Here are the top 10 games in physical hardware sales from the NPD:

1. NBA 2K15 (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3, PC)
2. Super Smash Bros. (3DS)
3. The Evil Within (PS4, XBO, PS3, 360, PC)
4. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (360, PS3, PC)
5. Destiny (360, XBO, PS4, PS3)
6. Skylanders Trap Team (360, Wii, NWU, PS3, XBO, PS4, 3DS, MOB)
7. FIFA 15 (PS4, 360, PS3, XBO, Wii, PSV, 3DS)
8. Madden NFL 15 (360, PS4, PS3, XBO)
9. Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor (PS4, XBO, PC)
10. Minecraft (360, PS3, PS4)

Callahan also notes that Sunset Overdrive was number nine in the sales charts "when sorting on SKU rather than by title." Also, The Evil Within from horror director Shinji Mikami was "the highest-selling first month of sales for new IP in the Survival Horror genre."

PS4 auf der Pole Position mit 1 Millionen verkauften Einheiten

Die PS4 ist mit 1 Millionen verkauften Einheiten in Deutschland auf Platz 1. Stand ist hierbei der 21. Oktober.
Denkt man etwas weiter bedeutet das ganze das etwa 10% der Weltweit verkauften Konsolen auf Deutschland fallen.

A new Milestone for Sony Computer Entertainment, PlayStation 4 cracks the Million Mark in Germany.

Neu-Isenburg: November 18th, 2014. Sony Computer Entertainment Germany announced today that over 1,000,000 PlayStation 4 systems have been sold in Germany. The milestone was reached on October 21st 2014. The impressive number underlines once again the PS4′s enormous popularity among the gaming community less than a year after the official launch.

Due to the outstanding success the next-generation platform has already sold ten million units worldwide, not only ensuring the “pole position” in the German market, but also ensuring its continuous growth.

Ein CoD auf Platz 3 in Japan... Spätestens hier merkt man, dass der Markt dort nicht mehr das ist, was er mal war.

Oder aber das schon kleine Zahlen unter 100.000 [bzw. unter 200.000 letztes Jahr] dafür ausreichen weil kein anderer großer Publisher was großes für den Termin hat. Halo 3 startete damals auch auf Platz 1 in der First Week. Ist ja auch nicht so das Japaner Egoshooter grundsätzlich abgeneigt sind, sie mussten ihnen nur schmackhaft gemacht werden, was bis sich Activision an Square Enix wandte niemand tat. JRPGs waren bis zu Final Fantasy VI bzw. Final Fantasy VII im Westen ja auch nicht sehr erfolgreich. ;)
