USA: Switch-Absatz legt um 115 Prozent zu / Insgesamt über 8,2 Mio. Switch in USA verkauft

28.11.18 - Nintendo gibt bekannt, dass der Absatz der Switch in den USA an den fünf Tagen der Thanksgiving-Woche um 115 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahr zugelegt hat.

Die Switch war die meistverkaufte Konsole in dieser Zeit und hat den größten Wochen-Absatz in der Geschichte der Konsole erreicht. Am "Thanksgiving Day" gehörte die Switch zu den am meisten bestellten Artikeln online, wie Adobe Analytics ermittelt hat.

Von Black Friday bis Cyber Money war sie das meistverkaufte Videospiele-Produkt des Online-Handels. Von Thanksgiving bis Cyber Mondays wurden mehr als USD 250 Mio. mit Nintendo-Produkten in den USA umgesetzt. Hierzu zählen Switch, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition, Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition, Nintendo-produzierte Spiele und Zubehör.

Die installierte Hardware-Basis der Switch beläuft sich in den USA mittlerweile auf mehr als 8,2 Mio. Einheiten. Von Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! und Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! für Switch wurden zusammen mehr als 1,5 Mio. Einheiten in den USA abgesetzt; die Spiele kamen am 16.11.18 auf den Markt.

Super Mario Party (Switch) hat sich bislang mehr als 1 Mio. Mal in den USA verkauft. Es ist das sich am schnellsten verkaufende Spiel der Mario Party-Reihe.

November 2018 NPD: PS4 Best Seller As All Systems Shine

The story of 2018 has by and large been that all major systems have performed well, and that continued in November with stat-tracking firm the NPD Group reporting that all three primary platforms exceeded sales of 1.3 million units for the month. As was expected, the PlayStation 4 was the best-seller in terms of unit sales, buoyed by the $199.99 Marvel’s Spider-Man bundle that ran during Black Friday. The Nintendo Switch generated more revenue, but was obviously sold at a higher price point.

Ein game Sales Award in Platin geht jeweils an:

  • Landwirtschafts-Simulator 19 (GIANTS Software/astragon) erschienen für die Plattformen PlayStation 4, Xbox One und PC
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Crystal Dynamics/Square Enix) erschienen für die Plattformen PlayStation 4, Xbox One und PC

Ein game Sales Award in Gold geht jeweils an:

Hier mal der Grund, warum sich viele Indie Publisher und Entwickler von Sony wegbewegen und zu Nintendo gehen oder auf den PC setzen. (Das ist auch kein Einzelfall.)
 
Der Anteil am Kuchen vom PC ist mir völlig klar. Die Indies haben hier ihre Wurzeln (offenes System und so) und mit Steam auch eine super Plattform dazu, ebenso wie eine Playerbase die gewillt ist auch Spiele abseits des Mainstreams zu spielen. Wieso aber die Switch hier so dominiert frage ich mich trotzdem. Der Formfaktor alleine kann es nicht sein (auch wenn er denke ich sicher nicht unzuträglich ist). Promoted Nintendo die Indie Games stärker als Sony oder MS dies tun oder liegts an der geringeren Konkurrenz (auf der Switch gibts, überzogen formuliert, ja nur Nintendos eigene Titel und Indie Games)?
