Switch has sold over 2M units in the US, tops NPD hardware charts for third month in a row

Ahead of the NPDs, Nintendo announced Switch was the best-selling console for the third month in a row. It has also sold over 2 million units in the US.

In September, Switch was the top-selling console hardware for the third-month in a row, and the fifth time overall in the seven months since launch.

PlayStation VR: Gute Verkaufszahlen für Japan enthüllt

Demnach konnten von der neuen PlayStation VR-Version mit der Modellnummer CUH-ZVR2 in der ersten Verkaufswoche ganze 27.000 Exemplare verkauft werden. Das neue Modell kam am 14. Oktober in den Handel. Das war die zweitbeste Verkaufswoche für PSVR seit der ersten Verkaufswoche im vergangenen Jahr, in der 52.000 Exemplare verkauft werden konnten.

Insgesamt wurden in Japan inzwischen mehr als 217.000 PlayStation VR-Headsets verkauft.

Freut mich für Sony und Nintendo. Die PS4 scheint aber jetzt an ihrem Höhepunkt angekommen zu sein. Ich denke nicht, dass sie jetzt so schnell noch neue Höhen erreicht, oder? Von daher bereitet man sich wohl schon heimlich auf die PS5 vor, damit diese dann in 2-3 Jahren erscheinen kann.
 
Mit der Switch ist für den Massenmarkt natürlich ein weiterer Player dazu gekommen. Die PS4 wird nach dem Weihnachtsgeschäft wahrscheinlich die 75 Mio. durchbrochen haben, was nach vier Jahren schon beachtlich ist.

Die PS5 sehe ich auch für 2019, die 100 Mio. wird man nicht knacken.

Wenn Sony mit $199 ins Weihnachtsgeschäft ziehen würde, gäbe es glaub nochmal ordentlichen Schub. Genug Exklusivspiele sind vorhanden und der Strom großer Titel reißt ja aktuell nicht ab.
 
Kann es denn sein, dass der Gesamtmarkt geschrumpft ist? Oder wo sind all die Konsolenspieler der letzten Gen hin? Mal unter der Annahme, dass jeder nur eine Konsole kauft, hätten wir in der letzten Gen ganz grob 80 Mio PS3 + 80 Mio Xbox 360 + 12 Mio Wii U.

Was haben wir heute?
70 Mio PS4 + 5 Mio Switch + 40 Mio (?) Xbox One ...

Davor hatten wir sogar noch Konsolen mit mehr als 100 Mio Verkäufen allein gehabt, siehe PS2 und Wii
 
Die breite Masse springt halt nicht sofort auf die nächste Konsolengeneration um, sondern bleibt einfach ein wenig "hängen".
 
Natürlich, aber diese Gen gibt es nun auch schon seit 2013 ... mich wundern halt die Geschwindigkeit der Verkäufe, diese scheinen die alten Höhen von PS2 und Wii einfach nicht mehr erreichen zu können, weshalb schon jetzt relativ klar ist, dass die PS4 unter den 100 Mio bleiben wird.
 
Kenne genug Leute, die noch auf der PS3 hängen. Das wird sich auch erst ändern, wenn die Konsole abgeraucht ist. Wii war ja eh ne komplette Ausnahme und die PS2 wurde auch von vielen Leuten einfach nur als DVD-Player eingesetzt.
 
Die letzte Gen dauerte ja auch grob doppelt so lange wie die aktuellen Konsolen jetzt am Markt sind.

Dafür hat die PS4 jetzt schon fast die Zahlen der PS3 geschafft, MS schwächelt, die Wii U war quasi nicht existent.

Am 30. September endete für Sony das erste Halbjahr des aktuellen Geschäftsjahres mit positiven Zahlen. So stieg der Nettoumsatz für das gesamte Unternehmen um 18,7 Prozentpunkte auf 3.920 Milliarden Yen (29,55 Milliarden Euro). Vergangenes Geschäftsjahr waren es noch 3.302 Milliarden Yen (24,89 Milliarden Euro).


Im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum stieg der operative Gewinn von 101,9 Milliarden Yen (768,21 Millionen Euro) auf 361,8 Milliarden Yen (2,72 Milliarden Euro). Das entspricht einem Plus von 255 Prozentpunkten. Beim Nettogewinn sehen die Zahlen noch besser aus. Während es im Vorjahreszeitraum noch 26 Milliarden Yen (196,01 Millionen Euro) waren, sind es nun 211,7 Milliarden Yen (1,59 Milliarden Euro). Dies ist ein Anstieg um 714,1 Prozentpunkte.


Ein guter Anteil der schönen Zahlen stammt aus dem Bereich „Game & Network Services“ aus dem zweiten Quartal. Dank wachsender Hard- und Softwareverkäufe stieg der Nettoumsatz um 35,4 Prozentpunkte von 319,9 Milliarden Yen (2,41 Milliarden Euro) auf 433,2 Milliarden Yen (3,27 Milliarden Euro). Der operative Gewinn in diesem Bereich stieg sogar um 188,3 Prozentpunkte. Während es im Vorjahresvergleich noch 19 Milliarden Yen (143,23 Millionen Euro) waren, sind es nun 54,8 Milliarden Yen (413,13 Millionen Euro).
