* The Ultimate Sacrifice – Complete the Arrival DLC
* Last Stand – Survive all five waves in the battle for Object Rho
* Covert Action – Rescue Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention.

Final Mass Effect 2 Mission Launches March 29
Arrival tasks Commander Shepard with traveling to the edge of the galaxy in order to recover an important asset – an operative that has information on the imminent Reaper invasion. Admiral Hackett is noted as making a prominent return in the downloadable content, voiced by sci-fi star Lance Henriksen.
“All year, we have been extremely honored and humbled by the reception we have received for Mass Effect 2 from players around the world, including our post release DLC”, said Casey Hudson, executive producer of the Mass Effect series. “Mass Effect: Arrival is an exciting extension to Mass Effect 2 and will show players just how close the Reapers are to returning and completing their deadly harvest.”
The DLC marks the last mission for Mass Effect 2 and will bridge the narrative gap between ME2 and ME3.
Arrival will set you back 560 Microsoft Points/ $6.99 (estimated, as we're going off a U.K. announcement) and offers up three new achievements/trophies for your trouble.

This first venture from Bioware Montreal, even though it still ultimately feels like Mass Effect 2 and carries the overall Bioware influence, feels a bit different. Some of that comes from how Commander Shepard is actually alone for most of this adventure. The basic premise behind this mission is that Admiral Hackett (voiced by Lance Henriksen) needs Shepard to extract Dr. Kenson, a deep-cover operative, from some Batarians. Due to the covert nature of this extraction, Shepard can't have his usual two-man/woman/alien backup -- Arrival producer Jesse Houston confirmed that, besides having Kenson herself as a companion (who, for gameplay purposes, is somewhat modeled after Mordin), Shepard goes through Arrival solo.
...
All that ends up presenting a bit of an interesting twist on the action. While you used to be able to lean on your party members for back-up or complementary skills during combat, now you have to contend with waves of enemies, or varying combat objectives, by your lonesome. Houston provided a savegame as a Soldier, and I had to rapidly switch between different ammunition upgrades and judicious use of my Adrenaline Rush ability to get through most of the combat setpieces. Again, while the aesthetics, dialogue, and overall experience still feels like Mass Effect 2, the fact that it's mostly one Shepard sneaking or shooting several Batarians (and other types of combatants later on) makes for a bit of a different tone to this mission.
...
Houston wouldn't put a hard number to the amount of time it takes to get through Arrival, but he says the setpieces and length could be comparable to Lair of the Shadow Broker. Whatever its length, in my opinion, each progressive downloadable mission has been better than its predecessor, as Bioware has gotten better at learning what works and what doesn't in terms of DLC quests. At the very least, Arrival looks like an interesting combat exercise, and a good source for teaser fodder to ruminate over and speculate on before Mass Effect 3's release this fall. We'll see how it all pans out when Arrival becomes available for download next week.
