People Can Fly eröffnet zwei neue Studios (UK & Polen) + Neue AAA Shooter IP für Square Enix
http://peoplecanfly.com/people-can-fly-opens-two-new-studios-in-the-uk-and-poland/
People Can Fly is happy to announce the expansion of its development teams, with the opening of two new studios; People Can Fly UK based in Newcastle, UK and second studio in Poland, People Can Fly Rzeszow.

Opened in September 2017, the Newcastle studio aims to bring UK expertise into the team, with former Ubisoft staff and veteran developers bringing a wealth of knowledge to the studio.

A popular and vibrant city, Newcastle is the northern hub of video games development in the UK, with other AAA studios such as Ubisoft Reflections and Sumo, a wide range of indie developers, and local Universities such as Teesside, Newcastle and Northumbria hosting a variety of top flight games courses.

Working alongside the main PCF Warsaw studio and PCF UK is the recently opened Rzeszów studio with around 30 developers that worked on Sniper: Ghost Warrior frenchise.

Rzeszow is a growing gaming hub in the southern part of Poland, with many game studios, technical universities that offer gaming and VR courses, and a strong community of gaming enthusiasts.

Since People Can Fly became an independent studio again, our ambition has been to build a team of talented and experienced developers that can develop the best AAA games. We decided in 2017 to open a new studio in Newcastle, the UK, to attract not only local talent, but also to attract the best developers within the UK. We want this team to grow to 20-30 developers within the next 12-18 months. When CI Games decided to restructure its operations, we immediately decided to open a new studio in Rzeszów to allow those great developers to keep on working together as a team, and to contribute to the game we’re working on. Our intention is to give both new studios, in Newcastle and in Rzeszów, the opportunity to work on features or part of the game independently from the Warsaw team – says Sebastian Wojciechowski, CEO, People Can Fly.

All three studios and over 150 developers are currently working on a new IP, a AAA shooter developed alongside Square Enix.

People Can Fly are currently hiring for a variety of roles, in all locations. For more information and to view all available positions, please go to the website: peoplecanfly.com/career

Und noch eine Studio-Gründung:

Hangar 13 eröffnet AAA-Studio in UK
The Mafia III developer has taken over an indie studio operated by veteran game creator Nick Baynes. 2K is now looking to expand the team to establish a new AAA console studio in the region, which the firm feels has been sorely lacking since the closure of Split/Second developer Black Rock in 2011. The new team will work alongside Hangar 13's three existing offices to create a currently unannounced major console game.

Paradox: ein Nachfolger zu Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines ist intern im Gespräch

“we are experimenting with a couple of the White Wolf brands right now,” but are aware that a new franchise can’t be immediately started from scratch ("if you’re going to build a big franchise you need to think in a seven-to-ten year cycle”) and that if the Vampire IP was to receive that kind of attention, “we need to know what the next ten years are going to look like.”

pretty pls

Blizzard arbeitet offiziell an einem neuen Diablo Ableger
https://www.resetera.com/threads/blizzard-confirms-a-new-diablo-project-is-underway.46937/
It's been speculated on before based on previous job postings, but I believe this is the first time they've come right out and officially said it's a new project. The description to me sounds like a new game and not a remaster.

Also worth noting is a new Diablo pet was datamined from a Battle for Azeroth build. It's likely a cross-promotion involving the new project, and the fact that it's already in a BfA build could mean there's an announcement coming later this year.

Remedy ist weiterhin an einer Fortsetzung zu Alan Wake interessiert
http://comicbook.com/gaming/2018/06/21/alan-wake-sequel-plans-remedy/
"So we own the Alan Wake IP, yes. I just want to say right away that it’s very dear to us and close to our hearts. We all love Alan Wake at Remedy and I think all of us want to see a new Alan Wake game. I just want to say that out loud. Unfortunately, I can’t speak to it anymore than that. We’ll see what happens with Alan Wake next but we all want to see it happen, absolutely."

Avalanche Studios (Just Cause, Rage 2) hat 6 Titel in Arbeit + Fokus auf Games as a Service
https://www.gamesindustry.biz/artic...to-find-the-line-between-aaa-and-independence
"We have six projects [running concurrently] right now, of different sizes. Four or five years ago that wouldn't have been possible. We're focusing a lot on growing leaders."
Nordisk's "help in the boardroom" has been invaluable, and the money in the bank from the investment provided the necessary stability to start thinking longer term and making clearer steps towards the self-publishing model it used for theHunter: Call of the Wild. A part of that process is growth, with a new office in Malmö (the third Avalanche studio after Stockholm and New York City) set to push the company's headcount from 330 to more than 400 people.
Indeed, theHunter: Call of the Wild is very much the scale that Avalanche is aiming for with its self-published games. "One might say 30 per cent of a AAA product," Holfve adds. "Also, it's our ambition with all of our self-published games that they will be run as a service. They will grow with free and paid DLC, so it will be up to the player what their experience will be over time."
