Vom WM-Stadion bis zur Irrfahrt des Mario: Die game Sales Awards im Juni

• „FIFA 18“ und „Super Mario Odyssey“ erhalten game Sales Award Sonderpreis
• “NieR: Automata” wird mit game Sales Award in Gold ausgezeichnet

Berlin, 25. Juli 2018 – Im Juni erhalten gleich zwei Titel einen game Sales Award Sonderpreis: So ist der Fußballsimulation „FIFA 18“ passend zur WM gelungen, die Hürde von zwei Millionen verkauften Spielen plattformübergreifend zu überwinden. Und auch das farbenfrohe Jump and Run „Super Mario Odyssey“ erhält im Juni einen game Sales Award Sonderpreis. Das exklusive Abenteuer für Nintendo Switch rund um Mario, Peach und Co. konnte im vergangenen Monat die Marke von 500.000 verkauften Titeln knacken. Neben den beiden Sonderpreisen kann sich auch „NieR: Automata“ über eine Auszeichnung freuen: Für mehr als 100.000 verkaufte Spiele plattformübergreifend bekommt das japanische Action-Rollenspiel einen game Sales Award in Gold verliehen.

The NPD Group has released its report for June, revealing which consoles and games sold the best during the summer month in the United States. Starting with hardware, Nintendo's NES Classic, which was brought back on June 29, was the month's best-seller in terms of total units. However, Sony's PlayStation 4 took the top spot as it relates to overall dollar sales.

Sony Has Shipped 82.2 Million PS4 Units As of June 31; Has Increased Expectations For Fiscal Year

Furthermore, the company has increased their prediction of total sales for the PS4. Three months ago, they predicted that the console would ship 16 million units through the fiscal year, but now they predict that the console will ship 17 million units by the end of the fiscal year. This will bring the total number of PS4 shipments to 96 million units by March 31, 2019.

PS2 hatte 2015 ≈158 Mio Stück verkauft. Also in 15 Jahren. Die PS4 hat knapp 100 Mio in 5 Jahren. Die PS5 wird frühestens Ende 2019 oder gar erst 2020 erscheinen. Heißt bis dahin wären noch 15-25 Mio Einheiten drin. Könnte die PS2 echt noch einholen.
 
Nee, glaub ich nicht dran.

Als die PS4 kam, hat Sony (richtigerweise) die PS3 ziemlich schnell eingemottet. Der Fokus lag auf der PS4. Und so wird es sicher auch mit der PS5 wieder sein. Die PS2 wurde ja noch ewig supported nach Release der PS3.

100 Mio. bis Ende Q1 2019, dann noch 12 Monate drauf (eventuell wieder 15 bis 20 Mio.), dann wird aber so langsam Schluss sein. Vielleicht noch bis Ende 2020 und dann 125 Mio..
 
Auf jeden Fall.

Vor allem haben sie (Sony) sich seit Mitte des PS3-Zyklus wieder ein Standing bei Spielern und in der Branche erarbeitet, worauf sie aufbauen können. Wenn da keine absolute Katastrophe mit der PS5 passiert, wird die PlayStation ein Erfolgsgarant für Sony bleiben. :dhoch:

• „Far Cry 5“ erhält game Sales Award Sonderpreis
• „Detroit: Become Human” wird mit einem game Sales Award in Gold ausgezeichnet

Berlin, 06. August 2018 Im Juli verleiht der game – Verband der deutschen Games-Branche zwei Sales-Award-Auszeichnungen für besondere Verkaufserfolge. Zum einen ist es dem Open-World-Spiel „Far Cry 5“ im vergangenen Monat gelungen, die Hürde von 500.000 verkauften Spielen zu überwinden. Das im Herzen von Montana angesiedelte Action-Adventure erhält hierfür den game Sales Award Sonderpreis. Darüber hinaus konnte „Detroit: Become Human“ die Marke von 100.000 verkauften Titeln hinter sich lassen. Das im Detroit der Zukunft spielende Action-Adventure um die Androiden Kara, Connor und Markus erhält hierfür den game Sales Award in Gold.

UK charts: Spider-Man is fastest-selling game of the year

It narrowly beat previous record-holder Far Cry 5 (which was available on more platforms), and sold almost double that of the previous biggest exclusive of the year - God of War on PS4.
...
It's also the fastest selling individual format game since the PS4 version of Call of Duty: WWII in November last year. Spider-Man is the latest in a long-line of hit PS4 exclusive single-player games.
