1.52 Update: Driving Academy

We are excited to share with you that a new game module for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator will be introduced with the 1.52 update - Driving Academy. This free update will include sets of scenarios which we hope will teach our players a thing or two about driving and maneuvering a truck in a fun and captivating way.


We are venturing into new territory, inspired by years of feedback from players who have told us that our games have helped them grasp the basics of truck driving. Many have used it to get a sense of handling a truck and trailer, learning how to maneuver and reverse. With this in mind, we thought we'd take it a step further by introducing a series of challenges specifically designed to improve and expand these skills.













Driving Academy will help players learn to drive a truck, from basic driving to navigating intricate courses and complex parking maneuvers with a detailed explanation via driving instructions including diagrams, pointers, and directions. This new game module will provide you with various scenarios of increasing difficulty inspired by instructions given to real-life students. We also wanted to enable drivers to analyze their drive so we have also implemented a new replay feature into this game module as well.














As we mentioned above, we are testing the waters with Driving Academy, but if we get positive feedback from our community, we would love to continue creating additional scenarios and special challenges in the future that real-life truck drivers may encounter on the road. Our dream is for this game module to offer a deeper understanding of both truck driving and the underlying systems, as well as when to use them. But that is still a long way to go.














We also plan to explore this new game module in our live streams, create a special explanatory video, and the topic may also be explored in an Under the Hood blog post, explaining our thought process and production challenges. So you will want to be on the lookout on our channels so you do not miss out on this exclusive content that will also take you behind the scenes. Driving Academy Release

Today, we are very happy to announce that Driving Academy is now available for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator! A few weeks ago, we announced this new game module in this blog and showed you a preview of it in some of our live streams, and now you can finally try it out for yourself.


As was mentioned in the previous blog we released about Driving Academy, we are venturing into new territory, inspired by years of feedback from players who have told us that our games have helped them grasp the basics of truck driving. Many have used it to get a sense of handling a truck and trailer, learning how to maneuver and reverse. With this in mind, we thought we'd take it a step further with this free update which includes sets of scenarios designed to improve and expand these skills in a fun and captivating way.

We've prepared a short video just for you, explaining everything you need to know about Driving Academy. It also includes a brief yet comprehensive guide on how to get started and make the most out of the game module.



This new game module will provide you with various scenarios of increasing difficulty inspired by instructions given to real-life students. That wait for you, but not to eat,
NO, they must be hauled, delivered quick,
Then parked away, now that’s the trick!




To our #BestCommunityEver, we’d love for you all to join us in celebrating Halloween this year by delivering our famously delicious Halloween Treats throughout all trucking territories. This time we have a combined community goal of 1,300,000 deliveries to make. That’s 300,000 more than last year, but we’re sure you can smash it! Our artists have created an extremely cool, ghostly Halloween-themed trailer that will carry your special treats cargo.






This year’s #HappyHauloween also offers a cool new, ghoulishly good, desktop theme that matches our celebrations for the event duration – we sure love it and hope you do too!








Your personal goal is to complete 13 deliveries of our yummy Halloween Treats cargo, and we’re offering some spooktacular event specific rewards, including a World of Trucks Achievement for this. All jobs for the event will be 100Km each (62.1 mile) or more, and be sure to check out the rules below.

Rules

Using External Contracts, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator or both, the community goal is to achieve 1,300,000 deliveries of Halloween Treats cargo, from any city in any trucking territory.

When a player completes 13 deliveries of Halloween Treats cargo across any trucking territories in either game, it will complete their personal goal.

Rewards

• Personal: Players that complete 13 or more deliveries of Halloween Treats cargo will gain a unique World of Trucks Achievement as well as a spooky Booing Ghost cabin item as a Steam inventory item for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.

• Community: When the community goal of achieving 1,300,000 deliveries of Halloween Treats cargo from any city is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a Grumpy Ghost hanging toy as a Steam inventory item for their cabin.

Note: In order to qualify for any community reward, you must complete at least your personal goal in Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator or both. Each reward will be a Steam inventory item for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Once completed, claim your reward in the Events page on your World of Trucks profile.

The event will be concluded on Sunday, 17th of November at 23:59 UTC.

Cruising Greece World of Trucks Event
We invite you all to join us on Wednesday, the 4th of December, to celebrate the release of our new Greece DLC, by taking part in our World of Trucks event – Cruising Greece! Embark on an epic journey through the legendary landscapes of Greece and its captivating islands, while contributing to its uniquely rich economy.

The challenge for our #BestCommunityEver is to achieve the community goal of driving 200,000,000 km while delivering cargo to or from any city in Greece.

While you are #CruisingGreece, you will encounter its natural beauty, ancient and modern architecture, and historic locations whose stories have stood the test of time through millennia to educate and inspire many of us today. With so much to see and do in this Mediterranean paradise, it's easy to get carried away with all the possibilities. We can certainly recommend taking part in the olive and cotton industries, offering beautiful locations to visit, then there is Greece's world-famous marble exports and tourism to experience, including enchanting islands and postcard-perfect villages.

As you participate in Greece's iconic economy, you'll get to experience new custom-made depots including quarries, farms, a shipyard, and gas stations, where you can deliver cargo. You can also look forward to many more epic views and highlights such as:

• Piraeus Port of Athens, the largest passenger port in Europe
  
• Faliraki Beach, a beautiful tourist beach of golden sands and deep blue water
  
• Lake Polyfytos Bridge, one of the longest bridges in Greece
  
• Thessaloniki Cement Plant, featuring one of the largest-scaled artistic mural projects in Europe

As with past cruising events, you can use your own trailer and experience all these in the external market!

Greece DLC has 15 exciting new cities to explore, and we’ve got a special reward for completing your personal goal, which will require you to deliver a job to or from all of them. All jobs for the event need to be 200 km or more.

So, what are you waiting for? Come along and explore the Mediterranean paradise of Greece and it’s surrounding islands, and experience its hidden wonders and thriving economy in this latest addition to Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Rules

Using External Contracts or External Market, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in Euro Truck Simulator 2, the community goal is to drive 200,000,000 km while delivering cargo to or from any city in Greece.

When a player completes a delivery to or from all 15 unique Greek cities, they will achieve their personal goal.

All jobs for the event need to be at least 200 km or more.

You can check if your recent deliveries met these conditions using your Log Book in your World of Trucks profile.

Rewards

Personal: Players that deliver cargo to or from 15 unique Greek cities will gain a personal World of Trucks Achievement and a beautiful dolphin-themed ETS2 truck paint job Steam inventory item.

Community: When the community goal of driving 200,000,000 km during deliveries to or from any Greek city is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a very cute Little Owl dashboard ornament as a Steam inventory item.

Note: In order to qualify for the community reward, you must complete at least your personal goal in Euro Truck Simulator 2. Each reward will be a Steam inventory item for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Once completed, claim your reward in the Events page on your World of Trucks profile.

The event will be concluded on Sunday the 2nd of February at 23:59 UTC.

IVECO S-Way Release

Today, we have some exciting news for you, our #BestCommunityEver! We are very excited to reveal that the IVECO S-Way has officially arrived to the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2!


We know many of you have been waiting for this moment for a long time. And thanks to the amazing cooperation and support from IVECO, we were able to bring this truck into the game, marking an exciting new chapter. Now without further ado, let's take a look at what this amazing truck has to offer!



The IVECO S-Way sets new standards for fuel efficiency and driver-focused design. In the simulator, you will find the Artic configuration of the flagship model for long-distance transport, featuring the largest Active space cabin for maximum comfort.





Under the hood, the truck offers three engine options: 460 HP, 500 HP, and 580 HP. Currently, players can choose a 4x2 chassis, with a 6x2 chassis option coming in a future update. The truck is equipped with advanced camera mirrors (with traditional mirrors available as an option) and a digital HMI (Human Machine Interface) as standard.





Customization is where the IVECO S-Way truly shines. It comes with 22 pre-configured factory colours, including the signature Green Metallic. The interior offers three trim options: the Standard, the Optional with chrome accents, and the Top with carbon fibre trim pieces and an Italian flag. You can further personalize your ride with a range of accessories, most notably the many fuel tank and front grille options.

Once again the festive season is upon us, so we are delighted to invite you back to our wonderful Winterland this Christmas. This time we've added a few special updates to make it even more magical than before, we hope you like what you find! So, to our #BestCommunityEver, we give you our Return to Winterland event for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator!



Get ready for an unforgettable Christmas adventure! Join us as we journey back to Christmas Winterland, where you'll deliver supplies and gift packs across the globe. We’re challenging the community to collect 200 Snowflakes for cities everywhere for each of the 5 tiers—1,000 Snowflakes in total. Each tier unlocks a special cabin item reward, with designs inspired by the five festive depots of Winterland!



This year, the weather in Winterland has changed a bit. You'll experience brighter, sunnier days than before, offering beautiful views with a fresher, crisper feeling. But don’t be fooled—there’s also a good chance you may encounter rougher weather, with snowfall in the forecast. You never quite know what you'll get!



You’ll be able to track the community progress on World of Trucks or directly in the game using the updated External Contracts interface.



We've designed a new #ReturnToWinterland Desktop Background Theme, and you may notice an elusive blue gift box that pops up every now and then, providing a small clue about something extra that's in store for you. Since the weather in Winterland is a bit different this year, you might be asked to help rescue some gift packs that were lost in a past snowstorm. We trust that you'll rise to the challenge and answer the call for help! Who knows where it may take you in this magical land, perhaps to a place you've never visited before. When the time comes to help, you'll know—just follow the instructions from Winterland and be on your way!


Also, pencil in the 19th of December, from 18:00 CET, for our annual Christmas Stream featuring Pavel Šebor! There will be some giveaways, and plenty of interesting updates as usual, there might even be some teasers for new stuff, but for sure there will be loads of fun with a touch of SCS magic! The stream will take place on our Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook, so don't miss it!


Return to Winterland Event Rules:
Using External Contracts with a World of Trucks-connected profile in Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator or both, the community is to deliver supplies and gift packs to and from Christmas Winterland using as many cities as possible.
There are 5 different depots in Winterland for all deliveries, to and from, they are:

1. Christmas Market...a town square market
2. Marigold's...a chocolate factory
3. Northstar...a post office
4. Rudolph's Crafts...an art workshop
5. Snowy Peaks...a mountain resort market

Your personal goal is to complete 15 deliveries for them including at least 1 delivery to or from each depot, using Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator or both games combined.
Snowflakes are gained for those cities that have delivered to or received from Winterland. For a city to receive 1 Snowflake, the community needs to complete 1000 deliveries between it and Winterland. Each city can receive up to 5 Snowflakes!
The community goal is to reach at least 1000 Snowflakes for cities across all trucking territories. A unique community reward will be unlocked for each tier of 200 Snowflakes accomplished, with 5 tiers in total.

Rewards

• Personal: Your contribution of 15 or more deliveries to or from the 5 Christmas Winterland depots will gain you:
  • A special World of Trucks Achievement.
  • A collection of 6 festive arrays of decorative exterior cab lighting, designed as truck accessory items for each game. This collection is compatible with the top-tier trucks of all truck brands.
    
  • A bonus reward, for those that don't already have it, of last year's beautiful Winterland truck paint job

• Community: There will be 5 tiers to unlock. Each tier will bring a special cabin item reward for both games, based on the 5 unique depots within Christmas Winterland, so let's haul!

Christmas Winterland Directions

Access to Winterland is available using a portal, which materialises after you've accepted any event cargo. Find it on the map and navigate to it. Look for the sparkles!

When leaving Winterland through a portal, you can either deliver a cargo to its destination or travel to a random city for a new job to Winterland.

Note: In order to qualify for any community reward, you must complete at least your personal goal in Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator or both. Each reward will be a Steam inventory item for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Once completed, claim your reward in the Events page on your World of Trucks profile.

The event will be concluded on Sunday, the 12th of January at 23:59 UTC.

Volvo FH Series 6 Release and More!

Today, we are very excited to announce the official arrival of the Volvo FH Series 6 into Euro Truck Simulator 2! As a special holiday treat, we're also introducing its predecessor, the Volvo FH Series 5. A huge thanks go to our partners at Volvo Trucks for their invaluable support in bringing these exceptional trucks to the game!



Volvo FH Series 6
Now let's take a look at what the Volvo FH Series 6 has to offer! It is the perfect long-haul & heavy transport truck, shaped and powered for extended productivity. Its aerodynamic design combined with powerful engines enhances performance while optimizing fuel efficiency.



This truck is available in four cabin variants: Sleeper, Globetrotter, Globetrotter XL, and Globetrotter XXL. All of these are also available in the Aero variant as well. This gives you a total of eight cabin options! Truckers can also choose from seven engine options, ranging from 420 to 780 HP, and select from seven chassis configurations, including 4x2, 6x2, 6x4, and 8x4.






The Volvo FH Series 6 offers plenty of customization options, including various front grilles, bumpers, and more. It also comes with a wide selection of pre-configured factory colours. Additionally, you can choose between the digital Camera Mirror System or traditional standard mirrors. The interior features four trims – FH16, FH Dynamic, FH Progressive, and FH Robust – with various seat designs matching the trims to choose from.







We would like to thank Volvo Trucks for their trust and the incredible effort they put into this amazing collaboration. We truly appreciate the close cooperation, which enabled us to bring this all-new truck into the game shortly after its real-world reveal. As we mentioned before, we are also releasing the Volvo FH Series 5! It is the ideal truck for long-haul or regional-haul assignments. The aerodynamically designed cab for effortless cruising at high speed helps conserve energy and provides a clear view for the driver.



This advanced truck is available in three cabin types: Sleeper, Globetrotter, and Globetrotter XL. Truckers can choose from seven different chassis configurations (4x2, 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4) and a range of seven engines, offering power outputs ranging from 420 to 750 HP.

• Community: When the community goal of achieving 600,000 deliveries of Valentine Presents cargo from any city is met and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a Cupid's Dice hanging item as a Steam inventory item for their cabin.
