As a result of the port, the PC version of Onward has been patched to v1.8, which includes dramatic map changes to accommodate for alterations made to get the game running on Quest. Previously, Downpour Interactive had told us these changes would mostly be in the form of altering the layout, removing some features the Quest couldn’t have right now like extra foliage, and so on. But it seems more dramatic than that. The Onward Discord server is a steady stream of users unhappy with the update and posting reports of various new bugs.

We’ve been listening to the feedback on the PCVR 1.8 update we launched yesterday, and I understand the frustrations you’ve shared with us. The focus for the update was not only to facilitate the launch on Quest: we’ve also implemented an enormous amount of changes under the hood that will enable us to expand Onward going into the future.
In the end, we didn’t allow ourselves enough time to bring back the full immersive experience for PCVR: the current graphics in particular are a noticeable step down from what you were used to in 1.7. I apologize for not having communicated that clearly with you, or giving you the option to make a choice between 1.7 and 1.8 while we worked on solving these issues.
Going forward the first priority for 1.8 is to bring the graphics to a higher level, and sort out the other issues you’ve raised with us over the past day. We’ll be releasing a patch today with a couple of immediate changes to LODs, as well as a handful of bug fixes. In addition to today’s patch, we’ll open up a beta channel on Steam that will allow you to revert back to 1.7 if you want to continue playing that version. This will remain an option for the coming weeks, as we work to address the issues you’ve raised.

VTOL VR version 1.0 is now available, exactly 3 years after the early access release! With the support of the wonderful community that has grown around it, the game has totally exceeded what I had initially envisioned. I am so grateful to all of you who've joined me on this journey, with an open mind and enthusiasm to try a totally new way of playing a flight sim. I hope you are as excited as I am to see how far this game has come, and where it will go in the future.
The incremental changes in the 1.0 update are mostly polish, bug fixes, and final touches to help bring the game to a state worthy of "full release". I can't give enough thanks to everyone participating in the public_testing branch, providing feedback and helping to smooth out the rough spots in each test build. As a solo developer, there's really no way I could have brought the game to this level without you.
I'd also like to give a shout out to those of you of who have been pushing custom missions and maps to the workshop. I've been having a ton of fun trying them out, and you've done a superb job!

It's true. Sam & Max are back in a brand new virtual reality game, courtesy of developer HappyGiant. The game was revealed in a trailer during Gamescom, which you can see below. It sounds like the Telltale voice actors are back, and the design of the street is inspired by their games too.

Im zweiten großen Leak vor der XR-Konferenz Facebook Connect, die heute Abend um 19:00 Uhr deutscher Zeit stattfinden wird, wird die Ankündigung von Assassin’s Creed VR und Splinter Cell VR bestätigt. Das spanische Magazin Vandal berichtet, dass Ubisoft im Rahmen der Facebook Connect beide Spiele ankündigen wird und dass sie „die Vorteile der Oculus-Technologie voll ausnutzen werden“.
