March 2018 NPD: PS4 Tops Hardware Charts as MLB Registers Record

Sony maintained its position atop the United States hardware charts with another impressive NPD result, outselling all other consoles in the month of March 2018. The console was buoyed by the release of MLB The Show 18, which set a franchise record during its launch month. However, Far Cry 5 unsurprisingly swept aside all competition, instantly becoming the fastest selling game of the year so far.

Nintendo Switch has sold nearly 18 million consoles, crushing 14 million target

Nintendo announced today that its Switch console has now sold 17.79 million systems as of March 31. Nintendo released the information as part of its fiscal year report. Nintendo had forecast that it would sell 14 million consoles, a target that it easily passed.

Super Mario Odyssey, the 3D platformer that we scored 100/100, is the console’s best-selling game. It has moved 10.41 million copies. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe follows with 9.22 million sold, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (which we also scored 100/00) is in third with 8.48 million games sold.

Das Ziel war aber schon ewig alt :? Das letzte Ziel lag bei 15 Mio. für das abgelaufene Geschäftsjahr, was ziemlich genau getroffen wurde (15,05 Mio.)

Fürs aktuelle Geschäftsjahr sagen sie allerdings 20 Mio. voraus :staun:

God of War becomes the fastest-selling PS4 exclusive ever

God of War has won critical acclaim from pretty much everyone, and now it is a massive commercial success as well. Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment sold more than 3.1 million units of the franchise revival worldwide within its first three days of release, making it the fastest-selling PlayStation 4 exclusive yet, the company announced today.

This means that if EA’s estimate is correct, the Xbox One sold 29.4 million units by December 31st, 2017, considering that we know that PS4 sold 73.6 million units by that same date.

Laut ZhugeEX ist man seit Januar diesen Jahres allerdings bei 35 Millionen Einheiten angelangt:
As I stated in prior threads, the Xbox One installed base is over 35 million globally.

I'm not sure what the reason is for the discrepancy with EA's estimates.

It could be it excludes Pro/One X numbers.
It could be that EA excludes a territory like Japan (they used to do this last generation)
It could be that EA estimates PS4 at a lower number. (Which would be weird given Sony release the official numbers)
It could be that installed base =/= sell through in EA's eyes. So replacement consoles sold wouldn't count and only people actively using consoles would count?

EA's estimates aren't wrong. I'm just fairly certain one of the above things is true.

Ultimately what we do know is PS4 sell through was 73.6m at the end of 2017. Xbox One is less than half of that total which shows the big gap between the two in terms of sales. But that's something that has been known for a long time.

Demnach konnte sich Atlus‘ und P-Studios Rollenspiel bis zum 31. März 2018 weltweit über 2,2 Millionen Mal verkaufen. Seit dem letzten Zwischenstand im November 2017 konnten 200.000 weitere Verkäufe erzielt werden. Darüber hinaus hat SEGA mitgeteilt, dass sich auch „Sonic Mania“, „Sonic Forces“ sowie die „Total War“-Spiele im vergangenen Geschäftsjahr gut geschlagen haben. Konkrete Zahlen nannte man in diesem Fall jedoch nicht.

Die Zahl ist der Oberhammer. Für mich persönlich ist allerdings die Luft raus aus dem Game. Hab es letztens mal wieder eingelegt, wollte nochmal versuchen, ob ich wieder "rein komme". Hab dann auf einem nicht beendeten Speicherstand die nächstbeste Mission begonnen, bei der man dann mehrere Punkte zum Vorbereiten anfahren musste. Drei hab ich geschafft und vor dem vierten fing ich schon an mit Blödsinn und es endete mit einer erzwungenen Massenkarambolage auf dem Highway und vielen geworfenen Haftbomben. Nach dem virtuellen Ableben hab ich die Disc dann wieder aus der Konsole genommen ^^
