NEWS Microsoft besitzt Activision/Blizzard !!

Bloomberg reported Microsoft president and vice chair Brad Smith plotted a meeting with UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt to discuss a competition regulator’s decision to block a proposed acquisition of games publisher Activision Blizzard.

Talks are likely to be scheduled during a visit by Smith to the UK to discuss the potential of AI.

A Microsoft representative said Smith will discuss “the need for thoughtful regulation” of AI, along with holding private discussions on other matters including the Activision Blizzard deal.

Microsoft remains committed “to finding creative and constructive ways to address remaining regulatory concerns”, the representative said.

Bloomberg stated Chancellor Jeremy Hunt will also hold talks with Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) officials during his trip abroad.

The president of Microsoft (MSFT.O) said he was looking for solutions to try to get British approval for the software giant's $69 billion acquisition of "Call of Duty" maker Activision Blizzard (ATVI.O).

"I'm in search of solutions," Microsoft President Brad Smith told the techUK Tech Policy Leadership conference in London on Tuesday.

"If regulators have concerns we want to address them. If there are problems, we want to solve them. If the UK wants to impose regulatory requirements that go beyond those in the EU, we want to find ways to fulfil them."

Nein, hat er ja auch von Anfang an gesagt, dass er die Entscheidung der CMA absolut nicht nachvollziehbar findet und ist daher dann natürlich auch nicht neutral. Der vertritt den Standpunkt, den er hat. Seine Ausschweifungen kann man da gut finden oder nicht, ich ignoriere das meistens einfach und hangel mich am dem Rest entlang, denn so detailliert schreibt sonst niemand über die Vorgänge.
