Ich hab gerade einige CDs zum anhören gekriegt und hierauf bleibe ich spontan hängen. Gefällt mir auf Anhieb ausgezeichnet. Und die Beschreibung auf Amazon trifft den Nagel auf den Kopf. Genauso klingt das:

In den Harmoniegesängen dieses Londoner Sechsers kann man sich verlieren. Sie schaffen eine Welt, in der das Verwunschene dominiert, in der die Gitarren glitzern und der Sound gefärbt wird von spinettartigem Klimpern und seltsam weichen Tönen, die rückwärts zu laufen scheinen. Ihre Songs erinnern an Mantras, weil sie im Laufe ihrer jeweils vier bis fünf Minuten stets versuchen, uns atmosphärisch in den Bann zu schlagen. Sie gleiten fragil, leichthändig verschachtelt und zart perkussiv dahin; sie wecken Assoziationen an einen sonnenüberfluteten Fluss, der gekräuselt wird von Wirbeln und weißem Wellenschaum. Wäre das alles nicht so verwurzelt im psychedelischen Folk, man könnte es Dreampop nennen. Doch Dark Captain Light Captain sind raffinierter im Detail und versponnen statt hymnisch; das macht ihren Stil eigen - als hätte man die Kings Of Convenience ins San Francisco der späten 60er verpflanzt, um sie dort an halluzinogenen Pilzen naschen zu lassen. Vielleicht ist ab jetzt wieder mal Leise das neue Laut; dieses Debüt könnte es bewirken. (mw)
