Offensichtlich ist das ja schwieriger als gedacht das richtige Overlay zum richtigen Zeitpunkt drüberzulegen.

The last few years have been transformative for me, from having time to reflect on what I most want to do, to working with new technologies at platform scale. And now, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to return to lead BioWare – a studio that I think of as home.

Over the past few months, BioWare has essentially transformed into a single-game studio as it harnesses its teams to work on the ambitious multiplayer action game Anthem, sources say. There are still small teams maintaining Star Wars: The Old Republic and piecing together the next Dragon Age, which was recently rebooted, but the bulk of BioWare’s staff in both Edmonton and Austin are now on Anthem. And there’s a sense among BioWare employees that the company’s future is inextricably tied to this game.

Anthem, which was announced at E3 2017, is now scheduled for release in early 2019, according to three people familiar with the project. The “fall 2018” window mentioned during that E3 announcement was “never realistic,” one source said. Exact dates remain in flux—and Anthem’s developers must also plan for a beta release, an EA Access launch, and an ongoing schedule of patches and updates—but it appears unlikely to developers that publisher EA will allow BioWare to delay the game any further than March 2019, when the company’s 2019 fiscal year comes to an end. (EA, like most publicly traded companies, uses the fiscal calendar as a basis for all of its decisions, as those dates determine how investors will behave.)
As one developer told me, there’s a belief that if Anthem doesn’t live up to EA’s expectations, BioWare will look very different in the future, especially after the disappointment of Mass Effect Andromeda led to EA absorbing BioWare Montreal into the studio EA Motive.

EA ist echt nen Hundehaufen.
Wollen nen Spiel das läuft aber wehe die Entwickler brauchen für sowas Zeit. :vogel:

10mio patches nach Launch sorgen auch sicher für den Erfolg eines Games.

Teilweise tun sie das. Siehe Rainbow Six: Siege oder sogar Destiny.

Verstehe aber auch nicht, wie eine Verschiedung heutzutage noch als etwas angesehen wird, was man kritisieren kann.

Edit: okay. Gerade die Sache mit EA gelesen. Ich nehme fast alles zurück! :gerri:
 
Wieso haben die sich nur von EA kaufen lassen?

Oder haben die in ihrer Naivität gedacht EA wird Bioware schon nicht dicht machen.
Die haben schon ganz andere Studios geschlossen.

Wobei ich aber sagen muss das mich Anthem von Tag eins an nicht interessiert hat, allein der Fokus auf Onlinegedöns lässt mich vollkommen kalt.

Mass Effect 2 Lead Writer Drew Karpyshyn Leaves BioWare Again

Today Karpyshyn announced on his personal site that he's leaving the company "pursue a number of other projects, including more original novels, an original sci-fi graphic novel I'm co-creating, and freelance gaming work." Karpyshyn also mentions he's "not leaving games entirely," and has something in the works with FogBank Entertainment. The press release for the company's announcement says that FongBank is dedicated to building narrative narrative games that focus on branching storylines and player agency.

Karpyshyn's departure follows in the wake of a high number of BioWare talent leaving the studio, including Dragon Age creative director Mike Laidlaw, studio general manager Aaryn Flynn, Andromeda lead writer Chris Schlerf, Dragon Age lead writer David Gaider, and Andromeda senior development director Chris Wynn.
