House of the Dying Sun is a tactical space shooter that puts you in the cockpit of the universe's most terrifying starfighter. Hunt the enemies of the Empire and bring ruin to their people.
Key Features:
Classic Space Sim Combat: Fly from the cockpit of the Executor Mk II with gameplay heavily influenced by the titans of yesteryear
Take Command: Give orders to any vessel in your fleet from a tactical overview, switch to another fighter, or pause time and carefully consider your next move
Replayable Scenarios: Choose one of three increasingly-brutal difficulties in each of the 14 campaign scenarios.
Powerful Upgrades: Complete bonus objectives to earn special fleet upgrades such as the Gap Drive or the Kamikaze Chassis. You'll need these to tackle the most difficult scenarios.
VR & Monitor Support: House of the Dying Sun was carefully designed for both traditional monitors and VR headsets such as the HTC Vive. It also supports 21:9 displays!

Bring Ruin June 7 @ 10:00am PST
It's been a long journey, but the game will hit Early Access this Tuesday, June 7th at 10:00am PST.
The base price will be $19.99 plus a 10% launch discount for the first week as our way of saying thanks!
This release will be the first step toward 1.0, with the final version containing a wave clear mode and a more polished and balanced set of missions. We'll be watching your progress and adjusting the missions accordingly!
Hot on the trail of the first update, we have another with some good stuff:
VR HUD: Increased the size of problematic UI
CONTROLS: More than one device can be bound (experimental)
CONTROLS: Fixed mouse + joystick stutter conflict
AUDIO: Stopped lots of popping
AUDIO: More oomph on the boost sound
WEAPONS: Purifiers no longer regen ammo
The mission description menu is resized specifically in VR to be more legible. Let us know if this works.
The other big thing is that the game should no longer oscillate between joystick mode and mouse mode, and multiple devices can show up in the binding menu now.
Along with the AI fixes from earlier today, here are some more fixes:
MISSION: Fixed bug where bonus is awarded on main objective fail
MISSION: Fixed elusive double-pod bug
MISSION: THE TEMPLAR has extra defenders on Warlord/Harbinger
CONTROLS: Implemented separate "Targeting Radial" action
VR: Fixed VR holodeck and performance hitch whenever transitioning from tactical to cockpit, sometimes seemed like a memory leak. This had to do with TrackIR trying to load when it shouldn't.
UI: Increased width and size of offscreen objective indicators so you can track them better
More controls work is ongoing, but some of it requires significant code changes, so hang tight.
Howdy!
This update mainly focuses on some AI bugs that have cropped up. If you've noticed any weirdness with AI not obeying orders in some situations, that should be fixed.
Here is a list of what changed:
Several small AI targeting fixes (mostly in the targeting matrix)
AI: Fixed several targeting bugs with certain units such as artillery destroyers vs sentry guns
AI: Fixed Frigate defensive radius -- was too small and affecting targeting
AI: Fixed fighters being too careful about firing heavies, they wanted to get too close
MISSION: Fixed bug where bonus is awarded on main objective fail
These should make your fleet seem more responsive. If there are any other fleet issues, please post in the forums!
All of the beta fixes are now pushed to main branch. Let us know if you run into any problems! Here is a list of what has been fixed:
AUDIO: 192khz sample rate support
AUDIO: Fixed errors causing log spam when starting some missions, potentially causing audio issues
AI: Allied fighters are better at Purifier Bombs
AI: Fixed cases where flagships would clip through terrain
OPTION: Vignetting screen effect option added
CONTROLS: Updated control input middleware
CONTROLS: Added option for forcing mouse in menus even if joystick input is received
CONTROLS: Added options for mouse inversion
CONTROLS: Added option for weapon gimballing in mouse mode
CONTROLS: Added mousewheel zoom sensitivity
SOFTCRASH: Fixed softcrash on warpout
FIX: Erasing your campaign save no longer erases your settings
GAP DRIVE: Performance hitch fixed
GAP DRIVE: AI are better at avoiding terrain
TEXT: Fixed a few spelling errors in mission descriptions.
ACHIEVEMENT: Gun Nut should fire more consistently. Just beat a mission that gave you a weapon (such as SU'MEER'S CLOUD) and it should pop.
Even though there are still some odds and ends, we're now going to turn our attention to the side mode known as wave clear. We'll have more info soon. Thanks for your support!
