World of Trucks Seite nachschauen.

New Event: Grand Gift Delivery 2017
Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Corleth
    Santa needs our help!

Our 'On The Road' crew has just arrived from the North Pole. Santa's logistics network is having a hard time coping with deliveries of all the gifts, and SCS Software has been summoned for help. Honestly, though, our humble sim trailer is just not enough, the motion seats just take up too much space. Way more capacity is needed. It is clear that we need to turn to players of our games for help!

There are billions of gifts around the globe waiting for delivery, and we have duly informed Santa that we may only be able to help him with a tiny fraction of the number, and only in limited territories. Even with the addition of New Mexico to American Truck Simulator and Italia to Euro Truck Simulator 2, our coverage of the two continents is still not satisfactory, not to speak about the rest of the planet. Yes, we know! Now even Santa is pushing us hard to improve the coverage for the next year already - as if he planned to depend on us again and again.

For now, let's try to do what we can do. There are rewards waiting for everyone who'll join in! Santa has some special cabin toys and accessories straight from his domain for you. He's even willing to let you park your mighty diesel beasts at the North Pole - in a new main-menu background scene. How cool is that?

This World of Trucks event is a bit more complex than what we had in the previous seasons. Players of both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 will be able to participate, but each game is counted separately and provides its own set of achievements and rewards. On top of it, each game's event actually has two levels of accomplishment, and two tiers of rewards!

The rewards are not just digital this time. At the conclusion of the event, we'll draw five lucky winners for each game and each tier (that's 20 prizes in total) and offer you a choice of merchandise from our e-shop to pick your reward from.

    Rules & Rewards

We're running two events in parallel - you can choose between American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2, or participate in both events to earn the most goodies! Deliver gifts (that's a very specific cargo that you will only find on World of Trucks contracts now!) to at least 6 (for the 1st Tier) or 12 (to complete the 2nd Tier) different cities. Only deliveries of over 240 km / 150 miles are eligible. Receive unique rewards on each tier:

    Tier 1:
    • Exclusive World of Trucks achievements for event completion in each game
    • Hanging cabin decorations - Xmass Ball and Plush Bear (ETS2), Polar Star and Polar Plush Bear(ATS)
    • Main menu background theme - "Magic Time"
    • Five people who completed this Tier have a chance of winning the physical reward: choose any amount of merchandise of your choice from our e-shop for a sum up to 50€.

    Tier 2:
    • Hanging cabin decorations - Polar Beast and Snowman Trucker (ETS2), Grizzly Bear and Snowman Trucker (ATS)
    • Customizable paint-jobs "Crystal Dream" (ATS) and "Crystal Dimension" (ETS2)
    • Main menu background theme - "On top of the world"
    • Five people who completed this Tier have a chance of winning physical reward: choose any amount of merchandise of your choice from e-shop for a sum up to 100€.

    Important Notes

    • Latest game version is required for participating in the event.
    • In-game rewards are granted as tradeable and marketable Steam inventory items
    • Quadruple (x4) your chance of winning a physical reward by completing the event in both games for both event Tiers!
    • Physical rewards are drawn randomly from all participants for each Tier after event completion on Monday, January 22, 2018. Winners will be announced on our blog!

That's it! Put on your hauling pants and hop behind your steering wheel! There're some delivery jobs waiting for you!

Which way to go? Beaver knows!

It's been two years since the release of American Truck Simulator. These were very hectic and demanding times for our development team but gave us all a lot of joy, too. Over the development of the game, the dedicated ATS team size has grown from the starting brave four to almost forty people at this moment. And we keep on growing, as we are acutely aware that we need to produce more content and more features at a quicker pace.

Our latest addition to ATS universe - the New Mexico map expansion - won the hearts of our players and has been critically acclaimed by both media and the community. We're extremely grateful for it, it gives us the energy to do our job the best we can and the desire to surpass ourselves and push the boundaries further.

We posted a few photo-hints in our previous teaser blog post to start your imagination. It's time to lift the veil now and show you the next step in ATS world development. There are several possible and logical directions... East? Or North? Can it be Northeast? Rest assured that serious research and pre-production is happening in all these directions, but for actual production, the winner is North! Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to ... Oregon!

Oregon, the Beaver State, will be the new addition. Depicting the very diverse environments across Northern America is always an exciting challenge for us. Oregon's nature surpasses everything we've encountered so far. Extensive deep forests, dense shrublands, deep calm lakes, wide rivers, steep mountain ranges, volcanoes, high desert and the Pacific Ocean's coastline. All stacked onto territory just a little larger than the United Kingdom!

Natural diversity is, of course, reflected in demographics and industry. You can look forward to the in-game economy being extended by the local industry corresponding to the reality of Oregon, like traditional wood harvesting and processing at sawmills followed with paper mills and furniture industry. We have not forgotten about other industry like technologically advanced Silicon Forest and other manufacturing centers.

Make sure to follow our blog, we'll publish a series which introduces our newest map expansion Oregon and bring interesting news from development.

Warming up for ATS: Special Transport

We have received a lot of positive feedback to our recently-released ETS2 Special Transport DLC. We continue to work on it - more routes are coming as well as various subtle code improvements. Meanwhile, we are bombarded with questions about a comparable expansion for American Truck Simulator, and we feel that we should not keep you completely in the dark. We are happy to confirm that ATS will also receive its own oversize loads!

Our vehicle team is currently building a bunch of new massive cargoes for ATS, so the route designers have to use placeholders for now. When the creators are setting up the route parameters, a ton of testing and iterating is required to make sure that the given cargo can get from point A to point B smoothly but with just the right level of challenge for the players. This is very time consuming, so we had better start on "scripting" the routes before the final cargo models are available. Let's take a look at a couple of screenshots below...

You can see our special cargo placeholder trailer. Our designers use it to verify that a particular cargo we have in our plans will eventually fit through critical places of the in-game world. If it doesn't fit, usually we try to tweak the map, perhaps raise a bridge by a feet or two, or move a big rock a bit further from a tight bend on the road. If such a change would ruin the place, we have to find and set up an alternate route. As you can see, some places are rather tight, with only a few inches of space left to drive thru!

Our Special Transport development team is spending a lot of time pulling this placeholder trailer, and as a joke they've started to call this weird empty box "the aquarium". When the vehicle team heard about it, they've decided to elaborate on this little joke. So now, when we're looking for suitable routes, we're also taking the SCS Hammerhead shark for a nice ride. :)

    Meanwhile in Oregon

A new map region usually means, among other things, some new industries inspired by typical real facilities identified by our location scouts. Today we want to share a few work-in-progress images from American Truck Simulator: Oregon map expansion development. They are depicting one of the new industrial prefabs we're working on: a shipyard.

    http://blog.scssoft.com/2018/03/tioga-pass.html

    Tioga Pass

From time to time, we like to revisit a region already covered in our games, and change things around, or add a new route. You can look forward to such retouches appearing especially in Europe later this year ;). For today, we would like to show you a new route that we are adding to American Truck Simulator's California.

    [IMG][IMG]

With the scale of our worlds compared to reality, we simply have to focus on major road arteries to form the road network. There is usually not enough room to even think about squeezing in any lesser roads. But we enjoy making exceptions and based on feedback from our fan community, so do the players. We have noticed a bit of empty space next to the Sierra Nevada, did a little research, and felt that it would be a great opportunity for one of our new map designers do cut his teeth designing a pass across the mountain range. There was just one small problem - typically commercial trucking is restricted in US national parks! Still, this region is so scenic and the task was so tempting, we decided to give it a go, and to find an excuse in the game for allowing the player to travel across the mountain pass.

    [IMG][IMG]

The national park in question is considered one of the most beautiful and possibly scariest of them all. But no need to fear. While it's home to many legends and mysterious creatures - be it Wendigos, Seeahtiks, various ghosts or famous Bigfoot – all the encounters took place far away from the road on which you'll travel.

    [IMG][IMG]

The road in question is one of the very few connections leading through this territory, as almost 95% of this area is considered wilderness. Its designation is CA 120 - the famous Tioga Pass. If you immediately thought that we were talking Yosemite National Park, you were right.

The new route is coming in the next update of ATS, the upcoming version 1.31. This addition to the game map, as well as many other small and not so small touches and additions to California, Nevada, and Arizona, will, of course, appear in the game for free for all the game owners, as a small token of gratitude for the loyalty of our fantastic trucking community!

Die muß ich mir doch mal runterladen:

    http://blog.scssoft.com/2018/04/american-truck-simulator-update-131.html

American Truck Simulator Update 1.31 Open Beta

We are making American Truck Simulator Update 1.31 accessible in Open Beta form today. We are starting a little rough this time, with several known issues, but at the same time, we are eager to collect feedback and reports already to help us finalize this update ASAP. Open Beta 1.31 for ETS2 should follow in a matter of a few days.

This update brings a mix of new things in many areas of our games. For those of you focused on truck realism, there are simulated trailer cables (with different visibility options) and improved mirror functionality. Explorers taking the CA120 into Yosemite National Park right away - be advised that in National Parks there are some regulations about commercial trucking. And finally, there are also new bottom dumper trailers coming in three versions.

There are also some smaller changes; 1.31 brings a few items from players' wish lists. We are introducing a new filter option for job and cargo search, or better precision of trip data for dashboard computer. As always, we have applied a ton of various fixes and tweaks. There is also one noteworthy change - from now on, when you reload/restart the game or if the gameplay repositions your vehicle to a new place, and you "spawn" in your truck, the parking brake will be always automatically set to ON, so that the vehicle may never start moving on its own unintentionally.

There are also some changes in tools and mods category. We are currently in the middle of a massive tech change in how our map designers apply textures, materials, and vegetation to road segments. Of course, this will also apply to the mod creators going forward. Historically, we have used a concept of "stamps" with pre-designed patterns to conserve memory and disk space, but we are abandoning this approach, and letting the map designers just "paint" surface properties with a "brush." This will bring more freedom and flexibility to map design; it should make the work more effective when a map designer is in need of a particular terrain feature. For the time being though, it means that map mods will have to be re-touched and re-saved with the new system, so things will need to settle down until everybody catches up. With the cleanup of map import code, we have also dropped support for very old (pre-4.38 format) maps so mods that are no longer maintained (were last saved as of Feb 2017) cannot be loaded in the current version of the game. We hope that this is not really an issue for any mods in current use.

Anyway - enjoy all the new additions, but please remember: It's only an open beta, not a stable public version so you may encounter bugs, instability, and kinks. It's completely okay if you want to wait for the final release. But if you're interested in helping us to move there faster, we'll appreciate all of your feedback on our forum and your bug reports in this section.

    MAIN FEATURES:

Power/air lines between truck and trailer(s)

    Oregon: Scenic road 101

US Route 101 will continue further north from California (part of core American Truck Simulator game) up through the new Oregon map expansion. When the new DLC is complete, the road will start in Los Angeles and end in Astoria. For now, at least - you will have to wait until we release Washington state DLC for the full length of US 101 ;). The section depicted on screenshots below covers the area between Eureka and Crescent City.

This scenic coastal road is known for many landmarks, vistas, beaches or renowned rest stops. Of course, some of them have been transferred to our truck universe. Parts of our virtual rendering of this legendary route are still in development, but you can already see that the result should be worth the effort.

    Oregon: Truck Stops

Recently, we've shown you places you can see on your drives across the ATS Oregon DLC. Today we will bring you a visual appetizer of the places where you can stop, refuel your truck, relax for a while, or stay overnight before continuing your long journey. There are some quite notorious truck stops in development...

    [IMG] [IMG]

... easily recognizable as unique landmarks. Some other are more versatile, in the style of typical Oregon architecture. On the first four screenshots, you can see our conception of the famous Biggs Junction.

Ein neuer Truckathon für den ATS:

    http://blog.scssoft.com/2018/06/operation-big-sur-starting.html

    Operation Big Sur Starting!

Here we are with a World of Trucks event dedicated solely to American Truck Simulator! The most recent "Start Your Engines!" event related to our association with the FIA ETRC 2018 season roadshow attracted a lot of interest among the players. We were happy to see so many of you taking part in it, and we have high expectations again for our very first community event with a shared goal.

Many of you probably know about the Big Sur Landslide. It happened in May 2017 and made the Camel-San Simeon Highway (a part of California State Route 1) unpassable. While the Caltrans workers and private contractors work seven days a week ever since to rebuild it as soon as possible, there is still enough of the landslide left for us. Let's help them and speed up the work! After all, we are talking 2 million cubic foot of dirt, rocks, sand, and mud.

Are you ready to join the Operation Big Sur? You can bet that along with that proud feeling of accomplishment there will be also some unique rewards for everyone who'll join us in this quest! Let's take a look at the rules and rewards:

    Rules:

Deliver 15 cargos of material and equipment either TO or FROM Big Sur Landslide on California's Highway 1 to do your part and mark your personal contribution in the effort to restore the scenic coastal road.

This is also a global trucker's community project: In order to complete Operation Big Sur and open the road in the game, the entire American Truck Simulator trucking community will need to make at least 500,000 deliveries. You can track the community progress on the front page of the World of Trucks.

If you go beyond the required personal quota, your effort will still be counted towards the community goal completion.

    Rewards:

For doing your part and finishing 15 deliveries, you will receive a cute "Plush Excavator" cabin toy and an awesome "Juggernaut" paint job.

When the community goal is accomplished, everyone will receive a memorial paint job "Operation Big Sur". However, in order to qualify for the community reward, you must have completed at least 5 event jobs.

All rewards are tradable and marketable Steam Inventory items.

Ready? It's time to put on the hauling pants and hop in the cabins of our diesel beast. Meeting point - the Big Sur Landslide!

This is a community event, and we hope for the various fan communities around the globe to feel that they are all a part of the united effort! We will be looking forward to seeing your screenshots of the event shared on social media, too. We have once again partnered with Truckers.FM to entertain us all during the hauls, and they have some cool giveaways ready for reaching specific milestones on the general progress bar of Operation Big Sur (see World of Trucks frontpage). Just make sure to tag the pictures with hashtag #OperationBigSur and also notify @scssoftware and @TruckersFM.
